Henry Herman Lowe Grave Marker

This grave marker which is at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, located at
179 Hackensack Avenue, Hackensack, New Jersey reveals that
Henry Herman Lowe served in the U.S. Navy during the
Spanish American War at the age of only 18.

The LDS is a Spanish American War military abbreviation, meaning  “Landsman”, a naval rank below that of seaman, indicating little experience at sea. 

In 1965, Henry Herman Lowe died at the age of 75 when I was 10 years old.

Henry Herman Lowe confirms his connection to Hackensack by being buried within its borders since passing and forevermore.
